Day 1:  Dehradun/Haridwar – Sitapur/Guptakshi | ( 210 kms drive / 6-7 hrs)

Pick-up from Haridwar/Dehradun Railway Station / Airport / Hotel and further proceed to Sitapur/Guptakashi via Rudraprayag. En-route Devprayag and visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptkashi. On arrival check-in to the hotel in Sitapur / Guptakshi. Overnight stay with Dinner.

Guptakashi – The name Gupt Kashi means “Hidden Benares. Mythology describes how the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shivji first concealed himself at Guptkashi, but later fled from there further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. There are more tangible connections as well-the Kedarnath pandas (priests) live in Guptkashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through Gupt Kashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

Guptkashi Weather Pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius. Cold in winters.

Day 2 :  Sitapur/Guptkashi – Kedarnath-Sitapur/Guptkashi

Breakfast

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Helipad at Guptkashi / Phata or Sersi, according to the reporting time provided by the Helicopter Company and board the helicopter for Shri Kedarnath Ji. After 15 minutes of flying, reach at helipad at Kedarnath Ji, have darshan & Perform Pooja, and overnight Stay at Kedarnath ji or can return and stay at Sitapur/Guptakshi.

Kedarnath – The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar.

Kedarnath Weather Due to its high altitude the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most part of the year. Summer here is cool and pleasant while winter is severe cold. During summer season the temperature varies around 20°Celsius. Light woolen wear is recommended. Winter season in Kedarnath is severe with mercury falling to as low as 0°Celsius. During this time the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.

Day 3 :  Sitapur – Badrinath

Option 1: Early Morning reach to helipad and catch the helicopter. Fly back to Sitapur and proceed to Badrinath (190 kms / 8-9 hrs). En-route visit Ukhimath (Winter adobe of Kedarnath Ji). On arrival at Badrinath Ji, pilgrims can have a bath in the Tapt Kund and the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There is other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee.  Dinner & Overnight stay at Badrinath.

Option 2: If returned from Kedarnath on Same day and staying at Sitapur/Guptkashi, Morning after breakfast check-out from the hotel and proceed to Badrinathb (190 kms / 8-9 hrs). En-route visit Ukhimath (Winter adobe of Kedarnath Ji). On arrival at Badrinath Ji, pilgrims can have a bath in the Tapt Kund and the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). Ukhimath – is small town located in Rudraprayag district.Ukhimath was the land where the wedding of Usha and Anirudh, grandson of Lord Krishna was solemnized. It is also a famous pilgrimage center and known for its ancient temples dedicated to Usha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Aniruddha and Mandhata. UtsavDoli of Lord Kedarnath and Madhyamaheswar are brought to Ukhimath during winter and worshiped for six months. The temple also holds year round pujas of Lord Omkareshwar. Situated on the road connecting Guptkashi with Gopeshwar, the holy town is mainly inhabited by the priests of Kedarnath temple known as Rawals.

Badrinath – one of the ‘Ancient Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3300 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus, the place got the name “Badri van”, meaning “forest of berries”.

Tapt Kund – Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bath before entering the Badrinath temple.

Mana Village – Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.

Vasundhara – As the name suggests, vasundhara is a magnificent water fall. This place is 5 kms. from Badrinath out of which 2 Kms. is motor-ableupto Mana village.

BhimPul – On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.

Vyas Gufa (cave) – Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.

Badrinath Weather – The average maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. Warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed for tourists.

Day 4 :  Badrinath – Rudraprayag / Srinagar  |   ( 160 kms / 6 – 7 hrs )

Morning after darshan & breakfast, check-out from the hotel & drive to Rudraprayag/Srinagar via Joshimath. En-route visit Narsing Temple (winter abode of Shree Badrinath Ji) at Joshimath. Later proceed for Rudraprayag/Srinagar. En route visit Nand Prayag and Karna Prayag. On arrival, check-in at the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

Joshimath – is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four ‘Maths’ established by AdiShankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of Narsingwith the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity is getting destroyed with time and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring Niti Valley at BhavishyaBadri.

Rudraprayag – is one of the PanchPrayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River. It is confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath, a Hindu holy town is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.

Day 5: Rudraprayag/Srinagar – Haridwar/Dehradun| (160 kms / 6 – 7 hrs )

Morning after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Haridwar to complete the spiritual yatra. En-route visit Dhari Devi Temple, Dev Prayag & Rishikesh. On arrival final drop at guest location for the onwards journey.

Rishikesh – Named after the Lord Vishnu, Rishikesh is a holy city for Hindus. Located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India it is also known as the yoga center of the world and is home to many world renowned ashrams. Rishikesh styles itself as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, with masses of ashrams and all kinds of yoga and meditation classes. The fast-flowing Ganges is surrounded by forested hills inside the city. Apart from temples and ashrams Rishikesh is now a popular for white-water rafting.

Terms And Conditions

All correspondence(s) in respect of Tours / Travel Service bookings should be addressed to M/s. NTP Tourism Affairs Ltd.

Payments: For all the services contracted, certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking, on confirmed basis & the balance amount can be paid either before your departure from your country or upon arrival in INDIA but definitely before the commencement of the services. Management personnel’s hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service.

Apart from above in some cases like Special Train Journeys, hotels or resorts bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year), full payment is required to be sent in advance.

Mode of Payment: Overseas advance payment can be made through Wire Transfer to our bank.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • 45 days prior to arrival: 15% of the Tour / service cost
  • 15 days prior to arrival: 30% of the Tour / service cost
  • 07 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost
  • 48 hours prior to arrival OR No Show: No Refund

 Note: Written cancellation will accept on all working days, except Sunday, Any cancellation sent on Sunday’s will be considered on next working day (Monday).

For the X-mas and new year period from 20 Dec to 05 Jan the payment is non-refundable.

In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/ contractors we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation & missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

Wildlife Safaris cancellation: All the wildlife safaris booked into any of Indian Wildlife National Park/Sanctuaries are non refundable. Even date change request will be considered as cancellation and no payment will be refunded/ adjusted against it.

Our Liabilities & Limitations: Please note that after the finalization of the Tour/ service Cost, if there are any Hike in entrance fees of monuments / museums, Taxes, fuel cost or guide charges – by Govt of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and check out time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.

We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the program or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipment’s, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation, or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage’s & personal property/s at all times are at the client’s risk.

Chardham Yatra of Uttrakhand is termed to be one of the best spiritual tours among Hindus. Pilgrimage yatra begins from Yamunotri Temple, the westernmost shrine in the Garhwal region dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna, before proceeding to Gangotri Temple, which is devoted to Goddess Ganga.
