Eligibility& Criteria for Medical Visa to India from Armenia to India

 

  • Patient & accompanying Co passenger is granted a medical visa if they are going to another country with the sole purpose for medical treatment. The total duration of the visa is maximum of one year.
  • Most important they should seek medical treatment at reputed/recognized/specialized hospitals in India .
  • Only two attendants are allowed to travel with the patient. They shoud be members of the patient family or close associates.
  • There is a comprehensive list of ailments for which medical visa is granted to India that ranges from cardiac treatment, neurosurgery,ophthalmic disorders, organ transplantations to congenital disorders, radiotherapy,gene therapy,  plastic surgery, joint replacement, tumours , spinal issues cardiac and others.

 

GENERAL VISA REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Original passport valid for at least six months.
  • Correct visa fee – Fees for visa service are accepted at the Embassy in cash in Armenian Dram. Please note that tampered currency notes will not be accepted.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs (five photographs in case of Pakistani nationals).
  • Supporting documents, where necessary.
  • Duly completed application form along with a photocopy of the passport. (Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals need to apply on special application forms). Applicants holding nationality other than Armenian/Georgian should fill out an additional form (Telefax for visa clearance) along with visa application and also attach a copy of the first page of their passport.
  • Visa Application from the foreign spouse of an Indian national should be accompanied with a copy of the passport of the Indian spouse (first and the last laminated pages) with English translation and notarized.
  • All Armenian/Georgian nationals applying for Visa are requested to submit a copy of Passport along with the Application Form. Other foreigners residing in Armenia/Georgia are requested to submit a copy of their passport along with Residence Permit/Registration issued by Armenian/Georgian Government.
 

MEDICAL VISA (MV) (INCLUDING SURROGACY)

 

A Medical visa is granted to those who intend traveling to India for medical treatment. The visa can be single/multiple entry. Please note that relevant letters/documents explaining details of the treatment, signed and stamped by the concerned recognized hospitals/doctors are required to validate the purpose of travel. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. Any person seeking a visa to India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of Armenia/Georgia permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents.

Any person seeking a visa to visit India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of Armenia/Georgia permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents. Entering into surrogacy arrangement under any other visa not sought for surrogacy is punishable under the Indian Law. Those who are going for surrogacy should obtain Medical and Medical Attendant Visas as applicable.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Duly filled in application form.
  • Two passport size photographs to be pasted on the space provided in the application form.
  • Copy of the confirmed return air tickets.
  • Relevant letters signed and stamped from the hospital concerned in India along with copy of recognition of the hospital.
  • Visa Fee.

 

MEDICAL ESCORT VISA (MXV)

 

A Medical Attendant Visa is given to those who are accompanying a patient traveling to India for a medical treatment on a medical visa. This visa can be given to a close relative/family member or a friend of the patient. Please note that relevant letters/documents explaining details of the treatment, signed and stamped by the concerned hospitals/doctors, a declaration from the patient or an immediate family member is also required confirming the travel of escort along with the patient. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Duly filled in application form.
  • Two passport size photographs to be pasted on the space provided in the application form.
  • Copy of the confirmed return air tickets.
  • Relevant letters of the patient from concerned hospital in India including the hospital’s recognition certificate copy.
  • Visa Fee.

Normally Visas are issued on the next working day to Armenian and Georgian nationals and after four working days for other nationals. For visa cases requiring specific clearances from India, it may take longer duration.

 

VISA PROCESSING TIME

 

For traveling to India, all nationals of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia are required to obtain a visa from the Embassy of India in Yerevan, Armenia. However, Armenian nationals holding Diplomatic Passports are not required to obtain visa for visiting India.

 

WORKING HOURS:

 

  • To submit applications: Monday to Friday, 0930-1200 hours
  • No Visa Services are offered on Weekends and Holidays.
  • To collect passports/documents: Monday to Friday, 1630 – 1700 hours on the date indicated on the receipt issued to the applicant.
Fees for visa service are accepted in cash in Armenian Dram only at the Embassy. For Visa Fees for different categories; please refer to Visa fees Schedule.
 

It would normally take two working days to issue visa. However, in the following cases processing of visa applications will take longer:

 

  • Applicants not resident in Armenia/Georgia.
  • Where clearance from India is mandatory.
  • Visitors to restricted areas. [Visitors to restricted/protected areas in India areas like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Parts of Himachal Pradesh, Parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Parts of Rajasthan need special permits and for this purpose an additional form has to be completed. Please contact the Embassy if you wish to ascertain whether any of the places you intend to visit fall in the category of restricted/protected areas. ]
  • Certain cases where additional documents need to be verified.
  • Please note that each application is examined individually and the time taken for issuing visas will vary from case to case.
  • All wrongly filled and incomplete visa applications will be summarily rejected. Please fill names and dates very carefully with complete details of profession, name and address of the office/employer, complete home address, etc.

Incidents have come to the notice of this Embassy that some unscrupulous agencies were duping Indian visa seekers by luring them to apply online for visa through www.indianvisa.co.in and other unauthorised web links.

It is hereby advised to all Armenian, Georgian and other nationals that all visa applicants have to apply online through the only official and authorised website which is http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/.Further there is no provision of online payment of the visa or any other fees and the visa fees has to be deposited only in the Embassy of India, Yerevan.

The Embassy of India in Yerevan, will not be responsible for any online transactions made with any other websites or agents.

Online visa issuance system

Embassy of India in Yerevan effective from 21st August 2013 has introduced a new Visa Issuance System for facilitating online submission of visa applications. The online application can be filled at the following website

Online visa applications can be filled anytime and from anywhere with an internet connection. Under the new system, applicants will enter the information in the online form available at the above mentioned website, take a printout of the filled form generated in pdf format, affix a good quality passport size photograph, sign the form and bring it to the Embassy along with accompanying documents and visa fee for issuance of visa.

While collecting the passports with visa, please check that all the details entered in the visa are correct. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the Visa Officer then and there only. No requests will be entertained once the applicant has left the Embassy after receiving his or her visa.

Online Application for Indian Medical Visa from Armenia

  • Log in to the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in. and click on Regular Visa Application.
  • General information
  • 1. Medical visa is issued to seek medical treatment in established/ recognised/ specialized hospitals/treatment centers in lndia.
  • 2. Medical visa of a foreigner undergoing treatment in lndia can initially be extended in lndia before expiry of the visa by the State Governments/FRROs on production of medical certificate/advice from established/recognized/specialized hospital/treatment centres in lndia.
  • 3. With a patient only two persons (attendant or family members) can get medical attendant (MED X) visa.
  • 4. Medical attendant visa (MED X) will be co-terminus with the medical visa of the patient.

Note: Procedure of Application

  • Complete the important details:

*the country you are applying from, high commission,

*Date of birth, nationality, e-mail id,

*Expected date of arrival in India and visa type. Enter the access code and click Continue.

  • The form consists of three pages in total. Fill up each page of the form with your correct details. Click Save and Continue at the bottom after you finish filling up each page.
  • Fill columns of your family address and your profession or occupation.
  • Visa application procedure is same for Medical Tourist Visa or Normal Tourist Visa
  • The Only point of Difference here is that for the Purpose of visit for entering India will be “ Availing Medical Treatment”.
  • Once you that , you would further fill the form Nature of Disease and you opted for India
  • Continue with your medical visa application Information regarding the hospital& treatment in home country & the associate hospital in India, time taken of treatment, expected number of entries/ visits, purpose of visit, expected date of journey, expected time of arrival and departure, other information, details about SAARC country visit and reference updates

** As the Travel is planned for the treatment to India only through NTP Healthcare support system & you do not have a reference in India, then you can provide NTP Healthcare office address .

  •  Upload Photo – Please upload the photo and finally take print of the form and keep with you Recent or Normal in your computer.
  • Once you Save and Continue on the last page i.e., third page, a preview containing all your uploaded details will appear.
  • Go through them once again you have option of Click on Modify/Edit if there is any error.
  • Click on Verified &proceed if all the data entered by you is appropriate
  • Follow the set of instructions that pop up on the new window and press OK for final registration. If you want to modify details click Cancel.
  • Then click OK a window will pop up where you would have the option to select the appointment date for submission of application to the Mission Counter. Click on Confirm the Appointment.
  • Another new screen will open after you have click& confirm on Confirm the Appointment, with two options to Print or Save the online application. Save the online application. It is advisable not to print it immediately as you may lose the application by doing so. Prefer 1st to save than Print
  • There after Click - Print Registered Application to get the hardcopy of the application form.
  • By any chance if you missed to upload your picture in the online application form, then paste it in the photo box on the first page. Make sure the photograph should be according to the specifications i.e., the same size as the box (2inch X 2inch).
  • There after putthe applicant signature on the rectangular box exactly below the photo box. The same needs to be done in the box at the bottom of the second page.
  • Final step Deposit the application form along with the essential enclosures at the high Mission Counter on the scheduled appointment date, mentioned at the right margin of the application, during the scheduled  hours (0930 hours – 1230 hours).
  • Since the nationals of Cook Islands hold New Zealand passport, they should mention clearly the Cook Islands nationality on the application form. 

 

In order to ascertain and Confirm the Medical Visa – The Indian Mission and Posts will check and authenticate the documents regardless of your country of origin. Apart from this they will also have to submit the medical history that they have received in their own country and communication exchanged with the Hospital/Doctor & the final plan they opted to travel to India for the specialized treatment.

The most important point to note is that medical treatment is allowed and further medical visa is granted only on the basis of treatment provided by the reputable and recognized medical centres.

Initially Government grant it for a year only with maximum three visits . However if there is a requirement again than it would be granted by Ministry of Home affairs solely on the recommendation and advice of the State Government or the Foreign Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) . This all will be additionally enclosed with the medical documents  i.e., authenticating the reason and necessity of the extension by the Hospital and Doctor.

The FRRO or Foreign Regional Registration Office regulates& monitor all the requisite visa,arrival and departure, registration and also the duration of stay of foreigners in India.

Foreigners visiting to India for their medical treatment or else needs to register themselves with the FRRO office after their arrival in India.

E-Tourist Visa  withMedical Travel to India

E-tourist visa is granted to the following criteria :

  •  If you are visiting India for the Holidaying (tourism) sight seeing, meet friends and relatives, casual business visit and a normal medical treatment
  • Visitors who do not have permanent address or business activity in India
  • Passport Validity of more than 6 months 
  • Visitors who show enough fund backing and support during the stay in India (fixed date of arrival and Departure)
  • People who are not persona – non – grata to the Government of India

To apply for E-Tourist Visa one has to fill an online application form. The URL of the form is:https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html

The E-Tourist Visa have validity of 30 days. There is no option of extension with it

The Fees of an e-tourist visa is USD 60 or the equivalent sum in the Indian Rupee per person. Children are as well charged not exempted in any case .
